Text in Photoshop

One of the very first thing you should know in editing is how to put text in Photoshop, putting text is just putting label in your image and naming it as is, text is a part of design for the readers to read your image. It is one of the essential parts in designing because, some of the photos need some text to express what it mean and text explain it all.

You will be needing Photoshop and prepare your workspace. If you want to add text to an image that has already been created, go ahead and open that image in Photoshop.

If you want to start from zero, you will need to create a new document by clicking "File" and "New" from the application bar at the top of the screen. Photoshop will then prompt you with a dialogue box in which you can input options for your new document, including the dimensions. Think about what you are going to be using the image for and choose your options accordingly.

Once you have opened your new or existing document, it is time to throw some text in. Use the toolbar to select the "Text" tool (shaped like a "T") and then click anywhere in your document's workspace. You will now be allowed to type in any text you want. After typing something, you can adjust font size, typeface, tracking and all sorts of other elements that pertain to the display of your text by using the "Character" swatch. You can even do a few more creative tweaks by clicking "Layer," "Layer Style" in the application bar. This will bring up several more options for you to manipulate your new text

And if your done with your image with text and other designs ion your photo, you can now save your image by clicking ''file''/ save as/ and a dialogue box will prompt and fill up the text box by any name you like.

then...

upload it. and enjoy.

Create Guides in Photoshop

I think this is important and useful function in Photoshop. When you design interfaces (eg. website mockups), you will need to create a sets of guides to ensure precision. But exactly how do we do this?

Here are the steps:

Firstly, if you haven’t turn the Ruler option on, Press Ctrl + R to turn it on, you will see the rulers appearing on top and right of the canvas:

Now if you move your mouse over on the ruler, then left-click and drag, you will see the guides appears on the canvas, as shown below:

and if you would like to clear the guides, simply go to View > Clear Guides

One extra tip with guides: if you right-click on the ruler, you will see a list of options to change the measurements, as shown below:

Now, enjoy your guides. Rock on.
